I now open up my main film editing project of normal HD AVi files in the Timeline, and then drop the rendered 'sharp & smooth' HD-P files on to the Timline where needed.Īt completion of editing your full Project, then create a full rendered HD file. The result will be a sharp & smooth video clip.
Now render this project file to a HD or HDV file via the Share option. If you now watch the Prodad converted clip in your timeline it will look quite 'soft'. I find that the best way to work on a project is to drop a single 'shaky' clip on to the timline, work it with Prodad (click 'FX', then Prodad, drag Mercalli 2.0 on top of your clip in timeline, click Mercalli 'Options', click 'Customize Filter', click on stabiliser of your choice - 'Universal at 40% Pan Smoothing and 30% Zoom works well with most video clips), click 'OK'.
If you do not do this, then the Prodad dreaded 'black screen' will show if you try to re-adjust or re-edit a film project with a Prodad clip in it. It is the rendered file you must then edit your project with, NOT the Prodad file showing on your timeline.

Once you have corrected your video clip with Prodad, you must then render this file (just click on 'Share' then 'Create Video File, then click to render it to your choice, such as HDV 720P or HD 1080P) The newly rendered clip will now show at bottom of your working folder.
